South East London's Kenny Allstar has made a career at all the intersections of UK hip-hop. Born in 1993, the DJ/producer/broadcaster jumped into music by rapping in local grime cyphers at the age of 13. After deciding against being a rapper, he transitioned to being a DJ who presented on local radio shows and worked alongside artists like Abra Cadabra. Eventually he launched his seminal Mad About Bars freestyles series via Mixtape Madness, earning millions of streams with entries from Skengdo & AM, M Huncho and more. In 2018, he consummated his rise with Block Diaries, a sonically sprawling debut album that sees him switch between Afroswing ("Stepped In (Sexy Back)" featuring Suspect, Afro B and Swift), grime ("Solo" featuring M Huncho) and UK drill ("9 Ways" featuring 9th STREET and K.O.) with equal ease.
