About Joseph and Rosemary Black
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. R: I remember my mum putting on a tape of simple worship songs, lofi and crackly. I loved that tape. It was only when I was older that I realised it was my mum singing! J: My dad was obsessed with guitars. Guitars everywhere! It sparked an interest. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Mantle (Ave)” R: This song came out of lockdown and a moment of connection with Mary, Jesus' mother, a woman who knew the hardest things and still lived Joy. It's meant as a modern addition to the tradition of Marian Hymns honouring Our Lady. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? We're both just starting out, and both of us in many ways starting again. Our favourite moments have been the recording process in a Highland bothy studio, and also just sharing the music with our friends in the living room. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There's plenty of things we'd love to do. One thing on our mind is to get over to the States. We've been so blessed by so many worship leaders and churches from all across the Body of Christ and would love to explore that a bit more.
