About John Powell Childers
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My first instrument was an electric guitar. A Christmas present. It was more or less a tool for mimicking 80's rock bands in front of the mirror. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Duran Duran, Rio (Remastered) Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon Remastered U2, Achtung Baby I've always been fascinated with what rock bands can do when they explore their experimental fantasies while respecting the songs. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Bev Hills” While this is not my favorite song of my catalog, I do believe this song is built and performed the best. It was the song on the "Some Kind of Fortune" album that strayed from the overall concept, ironically. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I realized I could write, perform, and record on my own without much help from others. It can be frightening when you are on your own without the safety of a band, but "life rewards the risk-taker." Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Never run out of ideas. Constant improvement. Chasing the song & sound.
