About John Michael Montgomery

Part of the '90s wave of honky tonk hitmakers who brought country to new commercial heights, John Michael Montgomery made his name primarily as a romantic balladeer. Yet despite his sometimes adult contemporary leanings, his vocal style remained solidly grounded in country tradition. From the early '90s through the early 2000s, Montgomery issued several Top Ten country albums, including Life's a Dance (1992), Kickin' It Up (1994), John Michael Montgomery (1995), What I Do the Best (1996), Brand New Me (2000), and Letters from Home (2004). ~ Steve Huey
