About Jennifer Pike

British violinist Jennifer Pike took up her instrument at age five, and entered the Chetham School of Music at eight. She won the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition at 12, and made her debut at the BBC Proms at 15, playing Bach's Partita in E major. Pike was a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist from 2008 to 2010. She studied with David Takeno, and attended the Guildhall School of Music and Oxford University, where she graduated with first-class honors in 2012. Pike has performed internationally as a concerto soloist and solo recitalist, and she has appeared with Andrew Davis and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Salvatore Di Vittorio and the Chamber Orchestra of New York, and Andrew Manze and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, among others. She has recorded albums for Regent, Chandos, and Naxos. ~ Blair Sanderson
