About Jamison Ross

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. At the age of 11, I was asked to sing a solo at church. I was uncomfortable with it but I bottled my nerves and sang “His Eye is on the Sparrow”. I remember the feeling that took over the room and myself to this day, and will never ever forget it. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Idris Muhammad, Turn This Mutha Out Marvin Gaye, When I'm Alone I Cry The Rance Allen Group, A Soulful Experience To me, Rance Allen is the unwritten epitome of Soul, Idris Muhammad showed how a drummer can have an imagination beyond a drumkit, and Marvin Gaye used his voice to feed the soul so much joy. These three albums really explain my concept as an artist. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Freedom Ain't Easy (feat. Tarriona Tank Ball & Keyon Harrold)” A song that is special to me is Freedom Ain’t Easy, off my latest album JAMO. It describes the feelings of a newly independent artist– realizing they have the freedom to do whatever they want, but also trying to become the artist they’re meant to be. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments of my career so far was when my debut album, Jamison, was nominated for a GRAMMY. It was such a special moment because I realized that my peers were loving what I was doing, and I knew I was just doing what I love.
