About Io

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. 6AM, 2008, I hate school mornings. I watch MTV, download songs for the bus ride. Wait, who's this girl? She's so blonde. She's dripping out of a pool in a mask and leather? Two Great Danes? She's beyond. I love her. I need more to feed my pop heart… Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Nothing More to Say” I wrote this in 1 hour in Islamabad. I had nothing left to give, but this 7:30 song proved me wrong. It's special because it reminds me I am myself; even when I can't see me. There's also a SOPHIE sample in here — my way of thanking her with love. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I sold music on my website. You'd pay, I'd email you a wav file. One very musty morning in 2018, I'm on the tube heading to my day job. I checked sales, and had sold over 1,000 copies of my songs. That realization was pretty sick. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to honor my obsession with I/O: how input (environment, experience, beliefs) plays with output (actions, desires, emotions). I want to push and shape this concept into a cohesive, contemplative, cheeky body of work.
