About I.N.R.I

Dutch death metal combo I.N.R.I. (which stands for "Insane Non-commercialized Rock Institute") were formed in 2001 by vocalist Henri Veltink, guitarists Patrick Koning and Wilfred Spijker, bassist Gerjan Slot, and drummer William Vlierman -- some of whom were formerly members of melodic black metal band Stigmatheïst, looking for a fresh start. This they got with 2002's Hyper Bastard Breed album, featuring frantically paced death metal reminiscent of Sweden's the Crown, Brazil's Krisiun, and the Netherlands' own God Dethroned at times. Unfortunately, the band subsequently lost its record deal, but is reportedly still active and shopping a 2006 album-length recording entitled Ultra Sonic Hatestorm to new prospective labels. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
