About Hearts & Colors

Initially launching their career as a harmonizing indie folk duo, Sweden's Hearts & Colors found viral success in late 2016 when their song "Lighthouse" was remixed by electronic DJ and producer Andrelli. Forging ahead in a lusher, more electronic pop style, the group released a steady stream of singles over the next few years, finding success on streaming platforms with tracks like 2017's "For the Love" and 2018's "L.A. on a Saturday Night." Prior to this, friends Philip Tillström and Nicolai Kjellberg got their start in 2014, applying their soaring harmonies to acoustic covers of popular hits by artists like One Direction, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars, which they uploaded to music-sharing sites. "Lighthouse," originally an acoustic piano ballad featured on their 2016 EP Prologue, became a charting hit in Sweden, Norway, and parts of Europe following Andrelli's downtempo dance remix of the song. Shifting away from their acoustic roots, Hearts & Colors returned in early 2017 with "For the Love" and "Shame," a pair of slickly produced singles that reflected the EDM style of their hit. After adding their vocals to German producer Felix Jaehn's track "Like a Riddle," Tillström and Kjellberg joined Andrelli once more for 2018's "Yung Luv." A barrage of singles arrived throughout the remainder of the year, including "L.A. on a Saturday Night." 2019's "Lion" carried on in the duo's latter-day smooth pop style while the acoustic "I Don't Care" relied more heavily on the acoustic guitars and harmonies of Hearts & Colors' early days. ~ Timothy Monger
