Gentle Bones

Unassuming singer-songwriter Joel Tan (a.k.a. Gentle Bones) has broken all the rules to become one of the most prolific artists on the Southeast Asian music scene. The Singaporean balladeer’s intimate vocals and laidback, sentimental melodies made his eponymous folksy debut EP a runaway hit in 2014. He became the first Singaporean act to score a record deal with Universal Music and continues to diversify his sound, foraging into lo-fi R&B on 2015’s Geniuses & Thieves and taking up electronic space on 2018’s collaborative B4NGER PROJECT and 2019’s Michelle EP.
