Los Angeles electro-pop duo FRENSHIP have racked up more than 500 million streams with 2016’s “Capsize”, a collaboration with singer-songwriter Emily Warren. • James Sunderland and Brett Hite while working at the same fitness apparel store. They first collaborated in 2013 and eventually quit their jobs to go full-time as FRENSHIP. • Previously, Sunderland had worked in production and film scoring, while Hite had been a burgeoning singer-songwriter. • FRENSHIP teamed with Norwegian DJ and producer Matoma for the 2015 streaming hit “Knives”. • “Capsize”, their 2016 collaboration with singer-songwriter Emily Warren, cracked the Billboard Hot 100 and went platinum. • The duo’s 2019 debut album, Vacation, features the English pop group Bastille and Brooklyn musician Yoke Lore.
