In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memories are the combination of genres I was exposed to. In the car, I'd listen to artists such as MJ, Roxette & The Beatles with my Abu (Dad). In the house, I'd listen to Pakistani hits & Bollywood soundtracks with my Ami (Mum). What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Brown Sugar Jai Paul, Leak 04-13 (Bait Ones) NxWorries, Yes Lawd! In terms of originality, D'angelo's jam sessions, Jai's unfinished leaks & Nx's reinvented soul speak the most to me. The production & songwriting on each is so unique, and these records makes me wanna create something new every time I hear them. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “This Love (feat. Dewaan)” This Love was the first time I ever sang in Urdu, & my first collaboration with Dewaan, who played a major part in making this happen. Although my mixing has improved immensely since then, I really love the production and writing on this record. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing my first gig in London. It was my first time performing outside of Scotland, & I was MAD nervous - until I looked up & saw the crowd holding massive posters with my logo. Surreal moment. Shoutout to Dictator & the person who made that happen! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? A lotta things actually... I'd love to play a show outside of the UK, especially in Pakistan & South America. I'd also like to work with some of my musical heroes, & perform at my first festival too. All in due time! I'm excited for the future.
