In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My mums record collection was vast, eclectic and in constant circulation day and night. Sounds of Motown, Soul, Reggae, Funk, Gospel, Rock, Folk and so on - graced the airwaves through huge speakers of our tiny living room and out to the street. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bill Withers, The Essential Bill Withers Taj Mahal, The Essential Taj Mahal Impossible question... Anything Bill Withers is timeless, relevant and makes life on earth make more sense. Taj Mahal always lifts me up. More recently Yebba's 'Dawn' and 'Live at Electric Lady' albums and Asa's 'V' album has been on repeat. Tell us why you chose this song. “Eve's Song” I felt like history, the present and the future all happened at once when I finished writing this song. A story about this one woman, many women, and myself all rolled into one tale, wrapped in a heavy amount of grief, love, hope and emotion. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Out of lockdown in January 2022 I kicked off my next chapter with a 'Live Album Launch and Recording' in the magnificent 'Manchester Cathedral'. It was amazing to fill it with friends, songs, amazing artists, musicians and a message of 'loyal love'. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I hope to collaborate with more artists and one day make an eclectic - soul moving - life giving - gospel album. I would love to take my music out to the world and get to play live to as many people as far and wide as miraculously possible.
