About Ego Ella May

Ego Ella May classifies her sound as "future soul." The self-taught songwriter, producer, guitarist, and vocalist, who hails from from South London, England, released her debut EP, The Tree, in March 2013. Spaced-out and sparse yet stimulating — reminiscent of narcotic alternative R&B albums such as Spacek's Curvatia and Kissey Asplund's Plethora — it was an impressive first step. The track "Love Hard," accompanied by a bold and psychedelic video, followed that November. In February 2014, she released the Breathing Underwater EP, another sharp set featuring collaborations with producers Mini-D and Iamnobodi. As with the preceding EP, it was made available on the artist's Bandcamp page.
