About DJ E-Clyps

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember the first time I watched a DJ scratching in a music video, it changed my life. I knew at that moment that's what I wanted to do. When I found out most of my favorite producers started out as DJ's, it drove my passion to be able to do both. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? DJ E-Clyps, Vintage Future II Daft Punk, Homework (25th Anniversary Edition) Kendrick Lamar, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers My style is rooted in Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz and House Music. Each genre influenced my sound in it's own way, and the goal of my first album was to show not only my style of house music, but also show different facets of my influences. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Thoughts of Charlotte” I made this record shortly after my grandma died, which was a rough time period for me. I wanted her to be a part of the album somehow, and this was my way of doing it. Something mellow, melodic, and fitting to her memory. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The first time I played Dirtybird Campout was unreal for me. To see that many people all at once in the middle of the desert partying to my set gave me the indication I was headed in the right direction, and it can only go up from here. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are so many major artists I want to work with to really showcase my sound a versatility as an artist and producer. I want to bridge the gap between dance culture and hip-hop culture in a way that doesn't compromise the authenticity of both.
