About David Fourie

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 6 years old I performed in our living room to my family, my mom playing piano and my grandmother was singing with me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chris de Burgh, Chris de Burgh: The Ultimate Collection Céline Dion, The Colour of My Love Mango Groove, Ultimate Collection: Mango Groove Chris de Burgh introduced me to how beautiful a male voice can sound. Celine Dion's career and voice inspired me to go out on stage and perform with everything I have inside of me. Mango Groove made me realise that South Africans can win grammys! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Just a Boy” This was my very first Number 1 Radio Single that we released when I was 22 years old after reaching the finals of Pop Idols. The is song based on a scene in the movie "Notting Hill" and it launched my solo career as a professional artist. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Opening for Westlife on their South African tour was incredible. I was also fortunate to be invited to the Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf, after which I recorded the winning song "My hart het klaar besluit" which became a No.1 hit Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I NEED to collaborate with David Foster most of all. My ultimate Idol is Bruce Springsteen and I would like to create a career like his. To perform at Madison Square Gardens, The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and Olympia Hall in Paris.
