DADDY LONG LEGS

Though they hail from Brooklyn, New York, Daddy Long Legs are a stripped-down punk-blues trio whose sound is informed by vintage country blues, albeit in revved-up, energetic, amplified form. Led by the feral vocals and harp work of Brian Hurd (also known as Daddy Long Legs), the group's no-frills attack was documented in straightforward style on their early releases for Norton Records, such as their 2012 debut Evil Eye on You and the 2015 concert set Rides Tonight: Recorded Live. After signing with Yep Roc Records, the band strove to add new layers to their music without sapping their energy and drive on 2019's Lowdown Ways and 2023's Street Sermons.
