A big top, over the top, circus-style horror and rock show that traveled the land, Circus of Horrors were started by Dr. Haze and Gerry Cottle, and debuted at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995. In 1997 the troupe hit the far-off lands of South America, eventually winding down the show in 1999 to retool and rethink the Circus for a version that would work in a theater format. The new extravaganza, based on an 18th century freak show, made its debut in 2000 and led to a CD release of the score, entitled Welcome to the Freak Show. ~ Chris True
