Pianist Christian Grøvlen was a prodigy who has built on a series of youth prizes and achieved a successful adult career. He is also a noted composer. Grøvlen achieved considerable renown while still a teenager, taking home three first prizes at Oslo's Youth Music Championship as a soloist in 2005 and as a soloist and chamber musician in 2007. He played a concerto at 17 with the Bergen Philharmonic. Grøvlen has been a frequent guest at festivals around Norway and is a director at KODE, a Norwegian collection of art museums and composers' homes. Grøvlen released his debut album, BACH - Inside Polyphony, in 2017. He returned in 2021 with Eventyr, a recital of works with a fantastic mood by Grieg and other considerably less well-known Norwegian composers. He has placed considerable emphasis on communicating the fine arts to young people.
