In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My mom got me my first guitar for Christmas when I was in the 8th grade. I sat and practiced all day literally until my fingers bled (very Bryan Adams of me) and didn't stop until learned to play "Breathe" by Anna Nalick in its entirety. Kacey Musgraves, Golden Hour Taylor Swift, 1989 (Taylor's Version) The Beach Boys, Pet Sounds 1) 1989: Debut inspired me to write songs, but 1989 inspired me to make pop music. Swiftie forever! 2) Golden Hour: a no-skip masterpiece in songwriting & crafting a sound. 3) Pet Sounds: my daily mood boost during a really difficult breakup. I'm really proud of the song and it's been really cool to see other people relating to my story.
