In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 12 years I got to record my first album for Malaco Records. It was an incredible experience. The producers were Kirk Franklin, John P. Kee, Walter Hawkins, and Frederick Knight who produced the disco classic "Ring My Bell." What a start! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Aretha Franklin, ARETHA John Legend, Get Lifted PJ Morton, Emotions: Special Edition When I was transitioning from my teens to my early 20s, these were three artists who helped me make that transition. They were soulfully singing mature songs about love and life that resonated with me and helped me make the leap from boy to man Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Turning Away” It was the first song I ever wrote that was a big hit and it will always be special for that reason. I co-wrote it with Marcus Whitsey in about 2 hours. We went to a studio 2 days later with Kimise Lee and we recorded the whole thing in 3 hours. Fun!
