In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember being taken to watch a choir and orchestra perform Mozart's Requiem in the city concert hall. The sound of the voices and instruments combined was absolutely stunning - I was amazed by how much emotion could be conveyed! I was hooked! Dustin O'Halloran, Piano Solos, Vol. 2 Max Richter, The Blue Notebooks (15 Years) Víkingur Ólafsson, Philip Glass: Piano Works I love these 3 albums as they showcase some of the most fantastic piano pieces of modern times. Tell us why you chose this song. “Lament” This is a sad piece of music I wrote to express grief and sorrow at the loss of a loved one. It is very meaningful to me as it brings to mind vivid memories each time I perform it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was playing in a group recently and we could just feel that the people were very moved by the music. At the end of the piece we all just sat in complete silence for a long time - it was as though none of us wanted to leave that special place.
