About Après La Classe

Ska-punk outfit Après la Classe formed in 1996 in the Italian region of Puglia, and from the very beginning their sound had its roots firmly planted in the music tradition of Salento, the area they hailed from. Comprised of singer/guitarist Cesko Arcuti, Valerio "Combass" Bruno on bass, Puccia on accordion, DJ Cordella, and drummer François Rekkia, Après la Classe debuted in 2002 with a self-titled album, which included two successful singles, "Paris" and a ska-core rendition of Adriano Pappalardo's "Ricominciamo," as well as some cover versions of traditional songs from Salento. Their sophomore album, Un Numero, followed in 2004. In 2006 Après la Classe celebrated their tenth year of activity, releasing their third record, Luna Park, in which all the elements of their sound -- reggae, pop, ska, punk, and Mediterranean influences -- were blended in a more organic and focused mixture. A long tour followed, documented by the Live CD in 2008, which also included the band's latest single, "Il Miracolo." ~ Aurelio Pasini
