About Anna Shelest

Pianist Anna Shelest has recorded Ukrainian and Russian music, works by Amy Beach, and more. Shelest was the youngest prize-winner ever at the Milosz Magin International Piano Competition in Poland and thus gained the chance to perform, at age 11, at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The following year, she made her debut with the Kharkiv Symphony Orchestra. In 2001, she made her recording debut on the album The Piano Artistry of Anna Polusmiak, Dmitri Shelest & Anna Sysun. In 2018. she began a series of Anton Rubinstein's piano concertos, recorded with conductor Neeme Järvi and The Orchestra Now. The other volumes in the series featured Järvi and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra; the final volume, with Rubinstein's first two concertos, appeared in 2023.
