Angel Elmore, aka Angel Bat Dawid, is a composer, improvisor, clarinetist, and pianist who is a core part of Chicago's avant music scene. She has worked with many artists, among them Roscoe Mitchell, Makaya McCraven, and Rob Mazurek, and has played extensively with rock and electronic musicians. Her 2019 International Anthem debut album, The Oracle, was universally acclaimed as a "road map" to the roots of all Black music. Live appeared in 2021, followed by the provocatively titled Requiem for Jazz in 2023.
