About Albert Au

American folk-influenced Cantopop singer/songwriter Albert Au rose to fame in the 1980s and is also known for his radio show on RTHK. Born in Hong Kong on July 31, 1955, he is a graduate of Hong Kong Baptist University and emerged as a popular recording artist in the early '80s. During his period of peak popularity he appeared in various films and television series. In addition to performing Cantonese songs of his own, he is known for covering classic American folk songs such as "Bridge Over Troubled Water" (by Simon & Garfunkel), "Both Sides Now" (by Joni Mitchell), and "You've Got a Friend" (by Carole King). ~ Jason Birchmeier
