About New London Fire

Releasing nearly one album a year since 2000, the hard-working David Debiak served as the brains behind New Jersey-based dream pop/indie rock outfit Sleep Station. But he eventually wanting to do something a bit different from that highly conceptual project, Debiak decided to put the band on hiatus to begin anew -- thus was born New London Fire. With a name provided by friend and My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way (who had long been saving it for a not-yet-realized Britpop band of his own), Debiak reorganized with his keyboardist brother Jason, drummer Rich Polatchek, guitarist Jonathan Lam, bassist Eric Wills, and studio collaborator D. James Goodwin, some of whom had previously worked on various Sleep Station projects. Citing influences for the music from Sam Cooke to Johnny Cash, New London Fire's debut album, I Sing the Body Holographic, appeared in August 2006 on Eyeball Records. Tour dates with Love Arcade and Scissors for Lefty surrounded its release. ~ Corey Apar
