Before embarking on the largely spiritual journey he’s been on since 1979, Van Morrison took one final stab at making a commercial pop-rock album that centres on love and the radio as a necessary connective tissue to society. The title track, “Santa Fe/Beautiful Obsession” and “Take It Where You Find It” mine this territory effectively with some of Van’s catchiest hooks, while “Hungry for Your Love” epitomises his sensual side. The album remains an underrated masterpiece.
