With Concerto Köln as sparkling partners, superbly eloquent violinist Midori Seiler gives us a feast of Vivaldi concertos—with a pair of gems by Albinoni and Galuppi tucked in among them. The Anna Maria of the title was an orphan who played in Vivaldi’s celebrated ensemble at the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice; thanks to her virtuosity and musicianship, she become not only his protégée, but also a star player in her own right. She was something of a muse to Vivaldi and, centuries later, has inspired Seiler to one of her most delightful recordings.
