Noll’s love of country songcraft harkens back to his past on a farm in the Condobolin, central NSW; he lovingly tills the soil with patience and doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty. Unbroken is filled with personal odes to life (“Who I Am”) and home (“Southern Sky”), about reflecting on the past (“Take It Back”) and focusing on the future (“Mountains to Climb”). Noll’s voice is in fine form, with the right amount of grit to match his down-home country style. He also includes his rocking version of CCR’s “Fortunate Son”.
