For the second instalment of his retrospective mix series, trance and house legend Paul Oakenfold reflects on the sound of London 1988. Returning from Ibiza the previous summer, The Godfather founded a cult club night to attract hedonistic devotees of the White Isle deep in the heart of the capital. The Future lives on via this nostalgic 15-track set. “This mix reflects on my time running The Future at the Soundshaft in London,” he tells Apple Music. “It reunited the people who’d spent the past two summers in Ibiza, along with all the madness and music that came with it. This mix includes many of those records, plus some remixes and productions from much later in my career—heavily influenced by my time running this now legendary party.”
