EDITORS’ NOTES

The Kaisers proffer a grab bag of collaborative pop experimentalism on this supremely underrated third record. Yes, it may feature surprises to frighten the indie diehards—football terrace funk on “Addicted to Drugs”, a guest verse from rapper Sway amid the clatter of “Half the Truth”—but mostly producer Mark Ronson (who also brings Lily Allen along for backing vocals on “Always Happens Like That”) marshals a successful exercise in re-minted rock nostalgia.
