LUCIFER I

LUCIFER I

If you want to conjure up some witchy-woman, acid-rocking occult metal, you could do worse than uniting Johanna Sadonis, the potently piped vocalist from The Oath, with Gaz Jennings, whose megaton guitar drove Cathedral into the depths of doom for decades. Which is exactly what LUCIFER do, with assistance from a drummer recently in Angel Witch. The result is supremely spooky but highly tuneful, harmonised to the skies in “Izrael” and paying tribute to two early forebears in “Sabbath” and “Purple Pyramid”. Appropriately, “Abracadabra” works magic with ’70s moods and riffs.
