EDITORS’ NOTES

Life Screams is the perfect title to capture the explosive, high-energy rock of Lacey Sturm’s first solo album post-Flyleaf. Over a rush of snarling riffs and hammering grooves, the vocalist examines the battle between light and dark through the lens of her intense faith. The industrial-tinged “Rot” is a cry for salvation that borders on harrowing, while “The Soldier” is a defiant warrior anthem punctuated by her commanding shriek. Sturm shifts into introspection toward the album’s end, but even on a ballad like “Run to You,” her devout belief burns bright.

Back to what she does best

I'll be honest, everything I saw Lacey do after flyleaf I thought she was washed up and not bothered anymore. How wrong was I? This gutsy album that musically has been very well composed and produced, but her vocal performance exceeds the standard she set out with with flyleaf. Some amazing sounds and a voice that sets her apart from so many female front women. Range, power and most importantly, soul. Welcome back to the forefront Mrs Sturm, you killed it!

Great album

Been a fan since I heard her in Flyleaf, such a strong return to music. Really good album by the ex Flyleaf singer. Well worth the wait.

Worth the wait

I've been waiting for something from Lacey ever since she left Flyleaf. Miss her vocals in that band, and sadly they aren't quite the same without her.
But I'm so glad she's made a solo album. I've been aware she's been working hard on an album for the last few years, and wow can you tell!
The results are brilliant. It's a great raw, emotional, honest rock album.
Really recommend this!

Also, for those who know of his music- Propaganda makes a brief (if frighting) appearance on the album.
