King Krule - EP King Krule
EDITORS’ NOTES
On his debut EP as King Krule, Archy Marshall blends the sedate fringes of rock, jazz, and hip-hop into an intoxicating mix. "363N63" is soaked in aqueous guitar, while "Bleak Bake" introduces his booming baritone over sparse dubstep beats and "The Noose of Jah City" sets subtle touches of electric piano and guitar into a sumptuous cushion of reverb. Just a teenager when he recorded this album, Marshall has a powerful bellow that's part crooner and part punk, all with a rapper's sense of rhythm.
