This compilation starts off with 1995's A Boy Named Goo, The Goo Goo Dolls’ breakthrough fifth album, which cemented their place in alt-rock history. Buoyed by the success of acoustic ballad "Name", the band would eventually find their groove in slick, skittering guitar pop ("Dizzy") and jangly rock that echoes the scrappy charm of The Replacements ("Broadway"). Johnny Rzeznik's raspy wails add a touch of grit to it all, especially in his most haunting moments, like on the cinematic stunner "Iris".
