Incredibad

The Lonely Island comprises comedy production powerhouse Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer — the same guys who delivered such SNL digital shorts as “J**z In My Pants”, “Lazy Sunday” and “D*** In A Box” — all included here (the latter featuring Justin Timberlake). While a few of these tunes like “Santana DVX (feat. E-40)” and “I’m On a Boat (feat. T-Pain)” play like inside jokes with a budget, the rest of the album overflows with side-splitting offerings. Jack Black fronts “Sax Man”, a drop-dead funny ode to a saxophonist who can’t play. And with help from the Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, nobody is safe from lampooning on “Boombox” — especially the elderly, New York City hipsters, Caucasians and even boiled geese. Norah Jones joins in the fun on the nerd-worshipping “Dream Girl” and Natalie Portman busts some unexpectedly Easy-E inspired gangsta-rap with “Natalie’s Rap”. Cameos aside, the Lonely Island do just fine without celebrity guests as evidenced by “Punch You In the Jeans” and “Space Olympics” which are both hilarious enough to get whatever you’re drinking to find its way out your nose.
