Mozart: Sinfonia Concertante K. 364 & Concertone K. 190

Mozart: Sinfonia Concertante K. 364 & Concertone K. 190

Israeli violinist Itzhak Perlman is perhaps the most adored instrumentalist of the 20th century. If anyone of his generation can match him as a violinist, though, it is his countryman Pinchas Zukerman, who is also that rare animal, a violinist who performs with equal flair on the viola. It is hard to imagine a better team, then, in Mozart's two masterpieces for dual string soloists and orchestra, the Sinfonia Concertante for violin and viola and the Concertone for two violins. On these shimmering live performances, Perlman and Zukerman are superbly supported by Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic.
