King Crimson pack a whole mess of art-rock exploration into this live EP. The septet opens with a lovingly faithful rendition of David Bowie’s romantic ballad “Heroes”, in which guitarist Robert Fripp—who performed on the original—re-creates his icy textures. They then launch into a set of ’70s classics, including a version of “Easy Money” that begins unusually tight and muscular before evaporating into shadowy atmosphere, and the 21st-century piece “Hell Hounds of Krim”, which showcases the proggy, polyrhythmic clatter of their three-drummer configuration.
