17 Songs, 57 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

With UK grime in its purest form enjoying more mainstream acclaim than ever, it's only right The Godfather returns to grab some limelight. The focus, energy, and crisp, production of single “Speakerbox” are apparent throughout, and Wiley's lyrics are typically brimful of themes and thoughts. There's bravado (“Back With a Banger”), generosity (“Name Brand”), nostalgia (“Joe Bloggs”), and pin-sharp humour (just about everything). On solitary downtempo moment “U Were Always, Pt. 2”, there’s even romantic drama in a chicken restaurant.

Was so full of anticipation when I heard wiley was coming to culture clash but did not see enough of him; was hoping it would be his big return to tell everyone whats what about his genre but now maybe here's the answer.

Listening live to his recent return sets on Rinse FM with dj slimzee literally left me brimming with anticipation; he is, as he keeps telling us, fresh, cold, wickedest. no one can touch that duo. they are the originators. he is the beating heart of the riddim. cant wait to hear his new project and the return of the one n only to make eskigirls and eskiboys bob their head to the sound once again, so gassed.

support uk music, keep gettin em hyper

The Grime Ambassador is back!

The Godfather of Grime is back! Can't wait to get this, I know it's gonna be big. Wiley deserves the success of this album, he's worked hard for 15 years, building the scene and doesn't get the recognition, hopefully this album will change all that.
