Taking his crowd-pleasing DJ set to one of the world’s greatest festivals, however, was an experience that stands out as particularly unforgettable. “Playing the legendary Glade Stage at the incomparable Glastonbury Festival is by far one of the greatest gigs a DJ could ever be asked to perform. The atmosphere is nothing short of electric,” Wan tells Apple Music. “From the moment the tech team wheeled me out onto stage—yes, this happened—the roof was lifted. Love and excitement poured over every inch of the field and thousands of festivalgoers danced from start to finish.” Featuring ’90s club anthems taken from his Glastonbury 2023 set—including tracks from Basement Jaxx, Happy Clappers and Wan himself— his Glade Haze mix is flawlessly engineered to sustain maximum euphoria, but it was spinning the Sonny Noto remix of Everything But the Girl’s classic hit single “Missing” that Wan remembers as a personal highlight. “Every member of the audience seemed to close their eyes and sing out every lyric at the top of their voices—it was a choir of unity,” he says. “I have always loved this track. Never could I have imagined I would one day be playing out its soulful melody and thought-provoking lyrics at Glastonbury.”
