EDITORS’ NOTES

Dutch singer/songwriter Annelotte de Graaf paints her breezy indie pop with streaks of romance and melancholia on this follow-up to her 2016 full-length debut. Even when she transforms Nick Drake's minimalist "Which Will" into an urgent rocker soaked in shimmering surf guitar, a hint of sorrow pulls at her airy croons. On "Can't Say That We Tried," she swallows heartache with fuzzy organ before opening back up on the tender "Wouldn't Even Know," in which Bill Ryder-Jones plays Lou Reed to her Nico.
