Cult Classic

This isn't just a brilliant album and a fantastic soundtrack, but like the movie itself, is a cult classic. For me I love the movie samples blended in with the tracks and only serves to further embed the images of the movie in my mind when I listen to this album. It evokes a real emotion and mood, and creates an awesome atmosphere.
Every track is superb and its rare that I can say I like every track on an album. Each track alone has its own mood and story to tell, and with that unmistakable Vangelis sound, so distinct and unique. An album I never tire of hearing.

A soundtrack to a generation of Designers and Architects, hard to believe that this was conceived and recorded 25 years ago. It still sounds like the future, but a future that is rapidly becoming real. Soundscapes that have profound depths, with subtle cues to transience and limited timespans - like the ticking rhythm in Rachel's Song or Wait for Me. Take strange comfort in the otherness and sense of alienation in Tales of the Future, or Damask Rose. This soundtrack still has the power to chill you to the bone and infer knowledge yet to be even guessed at.

I think this soundtrack is a work of art like no other! The way synthesizers are playing scores that would otherwise be played be an orchestra to represent the future is amazing. It sounds so retro now, but if the future were to be like Blade Runner, I would love it.

For me, 'Blade Runner Blues' is one of the best pieces of music ever written. I just love the ambience, the feeling, the image that the music combined with the films gives you.

Vangelis should be extremely proud of this soundtrack....simply amazing. If you don't already have this soundtrack...get it! It's rude not to own it.
