A Corpse Wired for Sound

A Corpse Wired for Sound

A gothic turn for the shapeshifting indie outfit. Steering into a gloom only hinted at on 2014’s After the End, the seductive A Corpse Wired for Sound owes less to The Smiths than it does Echo and the Bunnymen (“Flower of Sex”) and Depeche Mode (“Right Back to the Start”), bands who showered themselves in reverb and spun their melancholy into grandeur.
