The Divine Comedy Essentials

The Divine Comedy Essentials

Led by multi-instrumentalist Neil Hannon, Northern Irish act The Divine Comedy's brand of orchestral pop was embellished with sardonic lyrics and ideas swiped from highbrow writers by their bookish frontman. From the mid-'90s, they began to enjoy a series of hit singles and albums, bringing elements of lounge, synth-pop and indie-rock into their baroque sound. After a five-year hiatus, Hannon resurrected The Divine Comedy in 2006, while also releasing albums as The Duckworth Lewis Method in the 2010s.
