Ray Wylie Hubbard has been kicking around the Texas music scene since the '60s, first as a songwriter - he wrote "Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother", the track made famous by Jerry Jeff Walker - and then as a performer. While he lost his path in the '80s, failing to find an audience for his mix of country, folk and blues, he returned to recording in 1991 and hasn't looked back since. Like many performers of his ilk, Hubbard is popular on both sides of the Atlantic, with fans embracing his unique lyrical outlook and his raw, dusty vocals.
