Muslimgauze Essentials

U.K. producer Bryn Jones was one of the most mysterious and prolific artists in the history of experimental electronic music. After launching his long-running Muslimgauze project in the early '80s, Jones recorded almost 100 albums before his death in 1999, building hypnotic collages from Middle Eastern rhythms, murky industrial noise and rolling dub reggae bass lines. Fuelled by a lifelong obsession with Middle Eastern politics, Jones then laced these unsettling ambient grooves with evocative field recordings made in countries like Afghanistan and Palestine.
