Ministère AMER Essentials

Ministère AMER Essentials

French gangsta rap found early impetus and an influential voice when MCs Stomy Bugsy and Passi founded Ministère AMER in the early '90s. Fuelled by righteous anger, the group married aggressive beats with controversial lyrics of life on the streets, attacking social inequalities in their heavy take on hip-hop. They found a fervent audience and outrage in equal measure, earning fines—and outright bans—that only served to raise their profile. Despite releasing only two studio albums before disbanding to pursue successful solo careers, they've maintained their revered legacy as underground legends.
