Jerry Reed, known throughout the country music world as “Guitar Man” after his signature hit, combined R&B-inspired vocals and arrangements with boundless energy and a wicked sense of humour to make his frenetic, rockin' country sound. The result landed him more than fifty hit US singles, forty-nine albums, and admiring collaborators such as Elvis Presley and Chet Atkins. By the mid-‘70s Reed caught the acting bug and appeared in numerous television shows and films until his death in 1998.
