DJ Shadow: Influences

DJ Shadow: Influences

Born in 1972, DJ Shadow literally grew up with hip-hop, from the turntable wizardry of Grandmaster Flash and the witty cut-and-paste aesthetic of Steinski, to the mind-expanding sampling of Prince Paul. Becoming a crate digger himself, Shadow discovered how James Brown and David Axelrod brought funk and soul to life. Together, they inspired a game-changing mix master.
